One step closer....

Hello Blog world!! So it has been a minute since I have posted, but I just had to share some great news!! I have had to jump through some hoops of fire with sharks circling to get my financial aid cleared through the Dept of Education. Its a very long story but to make it short... there was a mistake on my file preventing me from getting any student loans because it showed that I was in default, well (after 3 months of talking to numerous ppl in numerous states) now it is finally handled and they have sent a letter to Judson clearing me of all charges of THEIR mistake. I'm on my way to enrolling in classes soon and can't wait!!! 


In other news... I went Monday to be fingerprinted for Substitute teaching. Whenever I am cleared for my background check, i can apply for my sub license through the state and hopefully start the process of getting on some local school's sub list. Can i get an amen???


Oh! I can't leave without bragging on my insanely awesome husband! Congrats to him for receiving an offer to go to Massachusetts next month to compete in a skills competition for work. They only chose one person from each level and he was chosen in his! He was told that they only choose "the best of the best" to represent the company at these competitions and that he should be "honored" to have gotten an offer!!

All About Me!

Thought I would do an About Me post so that we could get a little more acquainted! 

Here goes...

1. My name is Jessica. I have been married to my amazing husband Jay for a year. We don't have any kids presently, but are planning to have some in the future.

2. We recently got a fur baby. Here name is Jordie! She is a morkie (maltese and yorkie mix). She definitely keeps us on our toes but we love her more and more each day!

3. I am an only child on both sides, so yes I am mama's baby and daddy's princess!

4. I have the BEST stepdad and stepbrother a girl could ask for. My mom and JoJo have been together since I was about 3 years old and I am so thankful for him and all the things he has done for me and my mom. He is truly God sent!

6. My favorite food is Mexican... not Tex-Mex, but authentic MEXICAN!

7. My favorite dine-in restaurant is Rainforest Cafe.

**Such a cool place... if you haven't been, you should definitely consider it!** 

8. My favorite fast-food restaurant is Chick-fil-a.

Caution: Under Construction!

So recently I've been doing some soul searching.  I've tried to implement more positive things into my life. For instance I hope to be starting back to school on a full time basis soon, I am trying to cut out secular music and movies (try to keep it at least PG-13).  I also want to begin a weight loss journey, I have gained over 70 pounds since high school and I don't like  hate that I allowed myself to begin on this downward health spiral!


Hopefully this time next year I will be a new and improved Jess... both inside and out!!!

Let's get it started!

So I'm starting this blog to path my way from healthcare to education. I have recently reevaluated my career path and realized that I my intuition was right (way back when), and I would in fact enjoy being a teacher much more than a nurse! Wish me luck, because here I go... jumping back into the education world... HEAD FIRST!
